Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh Academy provides a secure, safe, caring, nurturing environment for students to grow as individuals. The fantastic team of committed teachers and staff ensure they reach the potentials they are capable of. We pride ourselves for instilling the values and principles of Sikhism into our students so that when they leave the school to pursue their chosen careers our students will shine amongst all others.

Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh Academy is an English Medium Co-educational school which was established in the posh locality of Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, Ludhiana, Punjab. It appears as an oasis amidst the concrete jungle of polluted industrial city of Ludhiana. The lush green grounds, surrounded by big trees reminds one of the hill stations of yore, of the days gone by, pines, oaks, meadows, dales.

Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh was born in 1878. His father was a Judge in Nabha High Court. After passing his BA exams from Lahore, he joined Govt. Service as a Naib Tehsildar, a job he resigned soon. He underwent immense torture under British Rule for 15 years in various prisons such as Lahore (Pakistan). Rajmundri (AP). Hazaribagh (Jharkhand), Nagpur (Maharastra) for the sake of independence of the suffering Indian people.

After his release by the British Govt., he devoted his entire life once again to the cause of freedom – this time to liberate the soul of human beings. He attained astonishing heights in the realm of spirituality. He is the only Sikh till date to be honoured by all the ‘Takhats’ and presented with robes of honour and citations for his Panthic services. He is known as the ‘SONE CHIRRI’ (Golden Sparrow) of the Sikh Panth. He ate, slept and breathed KIRTAN – the devotional music sung in praise of the Almighty, the loving God. He wrote more than 2 dozen books for the benefit of the spiritually inclined. Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar in Ludhiana is named after him.

In 1908, Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh Ji pioneered and laid the foundation stone of Khalsa High School at Talwandi Sabo. In his memory Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh Academy was started in 2002 to give children quality and affordable education. A second school was started in 2007 to provide education for children in the village of Narangwal, the birth place of Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh.

Bhai Manjit Singh, the grandson of Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh Ji is the leading spirit behind this noble humanitarian venture in the field of school education, himself having retired now from Panjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana. The Academy is being run and managed under the aegis of Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh Trust, Ludhiana with the help of a dedicated Board of Trustees. Mrs. Kamalpreet Kaur is the founder principal of the institution. The school has a well qualified and dedicated teaching faculty.

In 2010 the school gained affiliation to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi.

Our Mission

We believe that every child has the right to a proper education. A lack of education denies children the freedom to choose the life they want to lead. Many underprivileged children in third world countries are robbed of this basic requirement, and in the long term poverty will ultimately force them to choose the path of violence, crime and other anti-social behaviour.

Therefore it is our aim to provide a holistic, qualitative and affordable education to children, giving them an environment where their uniqueness is unearthed, nurtured and assisted to bloom. This in turn will allow them to become confident, original, creative, disciplined and compassionate individuals, who are secular and spiritual in nature and ready to spread their distinctive positive fragrance in all the directions of the society, and their future generations.

I hope our website can give you a flavour of our school but its vibrancy and ethos can only be appreciated by a personal visit.  If you would like to visit the school or provide any feedback, please contact bsrsacademy1@gmail.com
